Yong Goo Kim

Yong Goo Kim was born in Kwang-Ju, South Korea. In 2006, Mr. Kim’s family relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, where he studied at Middle Tennessee State University as a Piano Performance Major and in 2017, he received his master’s degree in Piano Performance at The University of Houston, Moore’s School of Music where he was awarded both a Music Scholarship and a Graduate Teaching Assistantship.

Yong Goo Kim has served multiple churches including that of Tullahoma First United Methodist Church in Tennessee as a staff piano accompanist and at Friendswood United Methodist Church as an Associate Music Director.

 
 
Shirley Taylor, Office Administrator
Shirley first began working as secretary for First Christian Church in 2006. After 17 years of service, she retired in 2023. After a six-month retirement, she returned to work at FCC in February 2024. She is a Christian author and blogger with 32 years of working for churches. She is particularly interested in Christian women’s equality in the church and in the home and has written five books advocating for full equality. In total, she has written 11 books, including one about the pandemic of 2020, called Pandemic: An Inside Look at Our Church and COVID-19 which tells how the FCC family continued doing church while adhering to the strict guidelines set forth by the CDC. She co-authored The Gathering Place Gourmets: A Taste of Love Cookbook with Trish Grimm (church member) and published it for a church fundraising project.

Julia Massey
Julia Massey, born and raised in the Houston area, has been a member of our church since she was two years old. She was baptized here at twelve years old and graduated from Caney Creek High School in 2019. There she went on to earn her bachelor’s degree at Texas A&M University of Corpus-Christi where she studied acting and dancing. Julia has now moved back to Conroe and is one our new Children and Youth Church leaders! Julia loves working with children and has a lot of experience in it. She is very excited for her new role at her church and she is very thankful for her church family and God!
 
Candida Garcia
Originally from Newport News, VA, Candida has called Willis, TX home for over half her life. She holds a BA and MA in History from Sam Houston State University. With extensive experience working with children, including roles as a babysitter, VBS and church volunteer, camp counselor, after-school director, and teacher, she currently serves as a substitute teacher and college professor. Candida is excited to co-direct the children’s ministries at FCC and share God’s love for all.
